Broken Exhaust

Just two days ago when I was driving my car quite hard all of a sudden it got really loud... and I mean loud... loud enough to make your ears ring! What happen was the exhaust pipe broke off of the ****** that connects to the ****** for the y-pipe. Looks like this gives me an excuse to get a new exhaust system anyway. But what I am worried about is how this would happen. Could I possibly have a bad motor mount or something that could have caused this? Has anyone else had this happen?

I had the exact same thing happen to me last week, i was wondering the same thing, Would also like to know whats best to put in there when replacing everything from the manifolds back.

the original ****** is crap, it rots through and the peice slips out on almost every taurus, SLO or SHO. Get the 'official' taurus repair kit, it comes with an donut seal and new spring bolts, too.
