the price for just the rear would be about $50-$60 tops, don't pay any more than that cause it would be a rip. whole car should cost no more than $170-$200(borderline high) tops.

Here's what my car looks like with what I think is about 50% on the fronts, and 5% on the rears. 50% is still illegal, but it's the max that my installer would do. I'm glad I didn't get 5% either way, because the 50% is noticeably more difficult to see through. Here's an old picture:

Suprised nobody has mentioned this... to get the rear window done in one piece you have to use a heat gun to get the film to fit the compound curves of the glass. Another reason to have it done by "professionals". I paid about $200 to have my car done, including the strip across the top of the windshield.

yeah, usually i just go the strip method and hide the breaks using the defroster lines. i find the heat gun is really only needed on highly curved back windows like in f-body gm cars. also those stupid black dots ford uses to "frame" their glass makes the tint really hard to adhere to the edge so it peels quite easily. you have to use sandpaper to rub the dots down but also in the same time be careful not to scratch the actual glass. all the more reason to get it professionally done. but if you aren't picky, you really save alot (and i mean alot) of money. as for finding it online i'd just google search it. also remember not only to search for auto distributors of tint but industrial as well as the same exact film is used on the side of office buildings, just under a different name. on 3m's site you can contact a rep but you have to buy in bulk.

I searched on google but not much luck. I searched for 3M tint and Solar Gard tint. Only found one place, but they sell 100 foot rolls and there are only 2 types of 3M that they sell. I was maybe looking to buy only around 20 feet.

then go shopping around your local pep boys/autozone/strauss/advance. sometimes you'll luck out and they'll have 3m or solargard laying out but everyone usually snatches those up first. you can try your local tint shop and ask to buy what you need under the table. if you do this make sure you lie and tell them you'll be using it for like your office windows which need big pieces, not your car. anyone who comes in my shop i try n convince to get me to do it instead.

just tinted the fronts of mine with 3M stuff. Worked out pretty good... down to 35% now on the front. I'll take some pics tomorrow... promise.
