Ok, My 2010 SHO with PP Brakes are down to the wear sensors. Got almost 70K miles out of them. Happy about the longevity. What are the best replacement pads? Should I stay wit OEM? How about slotted rotors. I have only seen them on ebay. Thanks for any help.

WOW! I had to have mine replaced before I hit 40k. I had mine replaced with OEM parts just as a FYI. Funny thing is I could have swore that part of the PP package was upgraded brake pads, compared to the standard SHO. But when I had the dealer search for brake pads only one part number came up for the SHO. If you find out any information to clarify this I would be greatful.

I have powerslot rotors and Stop Tech pads on front of my Flex. EBC Reds are also a good choice at all 4 corners. But... be prepared for lots of brake dust. Really helps stopping distances.

How's the "initial bite" with the EBC reds??? I've been wondering because I just hate the OEM feel. Everytime I hit the pedal I'm wondering if I'll ever stop. I've been looking for replacement ever since I bought my SHO a month and a half ago.

Carbotech now offers their full range of pads for the 2010+ SHO:

EBC Reds are "OK", but old-tech. The 1521 Bobcat is a decent street replacement. But, for more agressive use, I would go with the XP8 or XP10.

I had run 3-4 sets of AX6 pads on my LGT. I now have XP10/XP8 on my '89 SHO, and XP10s on the front of my Focus SVT. The XP pads are actually QUIETER than the AX6, but they are as dusty. That's whay I have black wheels!!

IMO, get at least XP8s. Dust as much as the EBC reds, and better, IMO.

Forget the drilled or slotted rotors. Get fresh stock rotors, season them in with the Carbotech pads, and call it a day.

Oh, and use a Motive bleeder to flush the system with Valvoline Synth Brake Fluid:

Oh, if you go 70K on brakes, you are "easy" on them!!

40K is better.

If I get 10-15K with a few track days, I'm slacking off!! :p
