O.K I know this is talked about ALL THE TIME. I've done a search and read literally every post dealing with this. I'm asking this because it just confused me to read all of those posts.

I have a 94' I RARELy race it. I've 1/4 miled it once, and I'm THINKING of Auoto Crossing it though. What would be the best upgrade for me to do and what parts do I need? 96' Upgrade or the Cobra Upgrade? Should I also do the 92' Upgrade? What is the true difference in stopping power? Also what's the difference in price? One last thing I need it to fit under my slicers, do they?

96' brake upgrade will fit no probelm, cobra will need bigger wheels unless modified. 92' Rear brakes arent a bad idea for autocross, but might not be worth the money.

The only upgrade that I aware of that uses PBR calipers and still fit slicers is Baer Racing 12.5" upgrade using redrilled Corvette Rotors and modified knuckles. I agree that the 96 upgrade and good pads would be the way to go for you.

Mustang GT and Mustang Cobra calipers are PBRs.

Cobra Caliper/11.6" rotor here, love it.

more rubber, more HP.....
Ok, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but the PBR GT (not Cobra) dual piston calipers/brackets will bolt up to SHO '94-'95 spindles without modification. Uses the stock SHO rotors, but hey you get dual piston, right? And it fits under slicers?

I am a Memeber a Ford Club here locally, so I should be able to get 92 rears for pretty cheap. Somone is almost ALWAYS pating out a SHO.

I am most likely getting The Brakets(and I think the bolts) from a memeber here. Is all that I'll need is 96 Rotors and 96 pads? What is the best ones for the money?

Anybody know? If so that would be very cool.

Not true. SHO Parts Northwest has a SHO PBR kit that fits under Slicers.

Just go with the 96+ brakes. Great stopping power + more durability + low cost. Since you have a 94 all you need are the larger caliper brackets ($100 for a both, iirc), nice set of PFC pads (AZ or parts store), and some basic 11.6" rotors ($20.00 from AZ). Install, bleed, and your all set!

Same setup here..

I also love it.

BTW with no mod. besides 99 knuckles, my slicers fit perfectly over my 98 cobra calipers.

No spacers, no nothing. I was told over and over again that they wouldnt fit....

So you had to use Gen3 '99 knuckles or was that a typo?? Please clarify.

The gen3 knuckles are lighter, and they add a bit more camber adjustment too.

I dont have any pics with the wheel off, but you get the point.

You gotta love that clearance

These are 98 cobra's, with hawk pads, powerslots, and steel braided brake lines.. Stops very well.
