I went with the drilled/crossed drilled rotors and Thermoquiet ceramic pads. I used red header paint (1500 degrees) for the calipers. Brakes feel great!

and I got mine ready to put on, I need to get some knuckles from the junkyard this weekend....

that wheels pretty nice, what are those 16's?

you should be happy with the wagners for a DD..... low dust, quiet....

You guys should try the 13" Cobra brakes for the Gen 3. Here is the black caliper set on my buddy's old SHO with 17" rims. You want to talk about some major stopping power. These are awesome. And I have them on my '92 SHO as well. This is the way to go if you have some extra cash.

The best brake upgrade for the G3 and still use the 16" wheels are the Mustang GT two *** front calipers.

Those are 17 inch rims. I got the tires and rims for $250 so I'm not complaining... although I think the 225/45/17 are too small for the car.

I will end up replacing them with 225 or 235/50/17s later on.

Just some unrelated info...

I rebuilt the front end while I was under there and please don't forget to put the large retaining ring onto the balljoint.... sheesh what a *****!

Also, I machine glazed my paint and wow, it pops! Not bad for a 10+ year car..

You have to drill and tap a hole .65"-.70" up to make it all work. I also had to file down the inboard raised area flat.

What year mustang calipers are you talking about? I was going to go ahead and paint my calipers, but if I can upgrade in the process, that would be better.

I got the '99 special ones, they have Cobra embossed on them. I really don't know what years fit. The '99s though use the same banjo bolt as the OEM calipers. 3/8"-16 IIRC.

There are several threads on here about this.

I searched and didn't really find many specifics. I will look further. I found serverl references to the mustang calipers, but no specifics other than this.

They are the same. Both are PBR two piston calipers.

Cheapest way to go I bet is a set of loaded rebuilt ones from AZ or NAPA or AA as long as they have the bracket.

If you spec the '99s then all that needs done is the bolt hole redrilled up.

Here's what you need to do. The bottom holes are the original ones on the PBR brackets. You need to drill new ones up a bit. I then ground down the bracket and got rid of the original holes and lobes.

Here they are installed.

they are different calipers, the mustang GT calipers ARE NOT cobra calipers

just look at the pics someone posted comparing them......

sorry to have hijacked this thread

its good to know those are 17" wheels, they fill up the wheel well nicely for that size wheel, should look good on mine! can't wait to ditch the stock 93 brakes! got all the pieces to do it today
