Anybody else hear a loud clicking when they first step on the brake pedal? Once I touch it, I believe it's the light switch, it clicks pretty loud. Almost as annoying as the blinker relay or whatever tic tocs when turn signals are on. Is there no insulation in this 4300 pound pig? lol

I never heard a click when i hit the brakes, but I did start hearing it ticking whenever I made a tight right turn with the window open. Brought it in to the dealer, and they said it was a loose bolt on my shock mount. that may be what you are hearing.

No no. This is a little tick from the brake pedal when I first start to push on it. There is a switch there and mine is loud enough for me to hear it. My rear lock out switch on my 6 speed conversion stangs has done this before and it's like a relay or something. Just noisy. Wanted to see if anybody else has heard this?

Do you only notice this when you step on the brake to shift out of park, or is it every time you press the pedal? If only when you are in Park, that noise is probably the shift interlock, the solenoid the keeps you from shifting out of park unless the brake pedal is pressed. I don't think this solenoid is activated though once you are in Drive (I'll have to check on that).

If you hear it each time to apply the brake then it's probably the brake light switch. Something's probably not right if it's as loud as you are suggesting it is.

Per the wiring diagram for the 2011 (and I assume the 2010 and 2012 is the same) the solenoid is controlled by the Smart Junction Box which does know if the transmission is in Park, so I suspect the interlock would only click if the gear selector is in Park, or the Transmission Range Sensor has issues, which there is a TSB for.

my brake pads will make a click sound after driving for a while then when I back up and push the brakes I can hear the brake pads "shift" I think the little clips that hold the pads in place are worn out

Everytime I put my foot on the pedal. Must be a defective switch.

Did you add the remote start module? If yes, there is an additional relay with that kit that is NOISY! We wrapped mine in bubble wrap to quiet it down. This is only with the remote start module though.

AHA! I believe that is probably my problem. Yes, my car has the Ford automatic car starter.

Seems to be coming from the ********* box for the starter that is under the dash mounted with tie raps. Is this what you have wrapped in bubble wrap?

Yes that's right. It's the control module for the starter. Make sure to leave the little antenna wire out.
