I have 55k on my 95 ATX SHO. I am about to replace the front and rear pads. I just installed the EARL's Stainless Steel brake lines and it helped a lot! I drive the car agressively on the street. The stock pads seem ok, but am looking into the VGX, Performance Friction or Raybestos CARBON METALLIC pads. Which do you prefer? Which ones will work better for my application and run clean, with a minnimum of brake dust?

Any help on this topic will be greatly appreciated!

I enjoy the performance and lifetime warranty (from AutoZone) of the Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads on the front and a good semi-metallic on the rear. No performance pad runs what you might call, "clean." Either the pad wears or the rotor wears. Both make a fine dust.

anyone had any continuous squeaking problems with the front pads?
first had the raybestos ceramics put on...squeaked like mad (with brakes on or off).
I complained to the shop they pulled em and put more anti-squeak on, the squeak stopped for one day. I complained again, they finally agreed to put "my" P.F. Carb. Met. on (they didn't handle this brand), by the time i got home from the shop, these were also "squealing like a pig" (lol), so now as convincing them that they should use P.F. pads, i a little embarassed to complain. what should i do?

i've checked the archives, seem like i'm one of the few to have the continuing problem. any advice would be appreciated.

i had the panther pads on my car and they squealed badly, i took the pads off and one of the pads came apart. So i switched to the raybestes cermaic pads, they don't stop as good as the panthers, but they have very little brake dust. But the cermaic pads still squeak but not nearly as bad.
