I have a small problem that hopefully ya'll can help me with. I want to buy the Baer 12.5 upgrade and keep my 16 in slicers, but learned today that that's impossible due to the new caliper from Baer. THis is my thought: the old calipers were from C4 Corvettes. If I bought C4 calipers from whoever, and then bought the rest of the stuff from Baer, I could have basically the old 12.5 package that fit under the stock slicer. If anyone could confirm this, give me a caliper part number, or tell me if I'm guessing right, I'd really appreciate it. Also, would any other caliper, like the 96+ mustang cobra work? Finally, does anyone have actual braking distances measured for the 96 upgrade or the Baer 12.5 upgrade? Any help wpuld be appreciated.

There are sooo many options, the least expensive ones involve more time and work from your end.
One option is this:
You can get cobra calipers(same as the Baer, made by PBR),have the caliper brackets and rotors modified. This is how Roush made the front brake set-up for the Bondurant SHO's.I have a contact that I got mine from.Contact me and I will ask him can still get them.I did this (got rotors and brackets) from him. Then I got powder coated cobra calipers with pads from www.discbrakesrus.com for$299

I am running 12 inch rotors with dual piston PBR calipers and it is a very close fit with stock slicers, but it works.

I first upgraded my '90 SHO to stock '94 brakes and that was a big improvement, but there is no comparision to the braking power that you get with the dual piston calipers and the 12 inch rotors.

I do have pic if you want to see my set up.

Later,
Mike :)
