Hello all. My passenger side brake dust shield fell off the other day. It looks like it was riveted on but not sure.Is there any danger to drive it like this? The car is not my DD.Thanx.

Mine was rattling for the longest time, I thought it was exhaust and it drove me nuts. Get rid of them. On our old F-150, a piece of gravel got trapped between the shield and the rotor. Nasty noise and a nice groove in the rotor. I haven't been a fan of them since.

The main thing of these is that they prevent a large amount of water splashing on it while they are super hot , which will result in warping.

Dangerous? no.
