i was thinking of purchasing a bra for protection from rock chips. my question is, is it just the top piece on the hood that rubs your paint away. on my friends 89 SHO the top piece rubbed the paint away with in 3 days.

i would think that if its rubbing paint away, it wasn't sitting/fitting properly.
this question has been raised before as well,so if you search, i'm sure the topic will appear (i remember bizzy posting in it as well, so find a post relating to bra's that she's posted in)

Bra

I think it depends alot on the bra you buy. I have a colgan bra on mine and haven't had any problems going on almost a year now. If the bra has hard surface contacts that contact the paint job those can rub the paint! :thumb:

I have a bra on mine as well, LeBra... I take it off during the summer time cause I don't need it on. Make sure that you take the bra off when you wash the car, and keep the waxing jobs up to par on it, and you should be fine.

I like the bra's for long distance trips on interstates or country driving for bugs and what not. I've borrowed flosho's bra a couple times and it left marks on my hood, i just buffed them out and waxed it. very nice for highway drive though...
