If im not mistaken dont we have a maf sensor? That would cause it to run rich in between shifts. Also it's an automatic, what would be the purpose of a bov? There are probably surge valves installed from the factory so a bov would be pointless. I haven't dug into the engine bay to verify, but im sure someone will chime in who has.
I'm not sure if we have a BOV or just a surge valve, but even with an automatic you want some method of relieving excess pressure from the turbos. With the tune I can actually hear the valve if I'm accelerating then let off the throttle. Sounds just like the BOV that my Stealth twin turbo had.
Yeah I get mine to make a noise but it only seems to be loud in colder temps.. Anyone have any ideas to get it louder? Aftermarket BOV? or something along those lines? I know guys with tunes and CAI seem to get more noise.
I believe the SHO has a recirculating ball valve, it sends the boost overpressure back into the intake tract somewhere so you don't hear it. Those that have intakes on there cars hear it a bit more because the filter is open, the stock box hides any sound of it.
It is afterall a luxury sedan so quiet operation is important. If you want more noise you could replace it with something that vents to the atmosphere so you could hear it, if that's your thing. As for performance it wouldn't do anything for you except make noise and it's really kind of "ricer" but to each there own
As mentioned in posts #3 and #4 above, you can hear the stock valve with a tune that bumps up the boost. In the case of my car, there is no aftermarket intake or open filter. It's completely stock other than the tune. I'm not sure if Bob has an open filter element on his Brick.
