Hey guys.. I used to own a Green/Mocha 91 Plus. I was restoring it for the past few months, but this past weekend I had an interest in selling it for a clean Gen II nearby. My friend's boss (effing LOADED) always has loved SHO's, so he bought mine and has already spent a ton of money on it, finishing what I had started. I swooped on the Gen II the next day and I love it so far, aside from a few issues it's been having. First of all, it's been running way too cold. I thought maybe it was just the gauge... Everything seemed to be in good working order. Then after further examination, it turns out the fan is ALWAYS on. How can I fix this? Every time I start the car, the fan instantly comes on and will stay on as long as the car is running. Once it is shut off, keys in the ignition or not, the fan stops. Is my fan motor going out? I have no idea.

Next problem... The guy who owned it before me had the battery on facing the wrong direction, so the negative cable rubbed on the belt. I got a new battery and cables, and replaced everything (as well as turned the battery around, LOL) and that all is working fine. Only thing was, when I was down under the car, I noticed a rubber line that wasn't connected to anything. There was a drop of fuel on the end which led me to believe it was a fuel line, but it still ran fine? There is a hard plastic line (same size as the fuel lines) going along the radiator bracket, and towards the driver's side of the bracket, there is a T... out of this T is this rubber hose I'm speaking of. It's about 12-16" long or so. I am pretty stumped as to where this connects to. And I'm pretty certain it's a fuel line, as now my car will crank but wont turn over... like it's got zero fuel pressure. Anyone have any ideas on this?

And my third issue... I noticed the 3rd brake light didn't work when I bought the car. No big deal, as I figured it was a fuse. I checked all the fuses... all were fine. Then when I investigated further, I realized if I held the brakes lightly, only the 2 brake lights would work, but when I pressed it harder, NONE of the brake lights work. WTF?

Looks like this SHO might need a good amount of TLC too. Fantastic.. I sold my troublesome project SHO... for what looks like another troublesome project SHO. Damnit! LOL

So you sold the second rarest GenI for a GenII?

Okay...

Anywho,

Sounds like you have some EEC/CCRM problems. Make sure that the ground for the EEC is connected.

That line sounds like the line for the charcoal canister that goes to the fuel tank. It's not a fuel line per se, but does carry fuel vapor.

Since your problems started after you swapped the battery, I would check the ground for the EEC. It's right next to the battery on the passenger side fender, and there is one on the firewall next to the EEC as well.

Sorry for the dumb question, but EEC? CCRM? What do those stand for? I'm not in the loop as far as SHO ackrynoms go... I only know a few of em, ha.

And the problems were happening before the battery.. that's just when I noticed the fuel line. That would make sense for it to be vapors though... I haven't seen any fuel on the ground, but i do smell it a lot. Would that cause me to drop enough pressure for it to not want to start?

Basically...
EEC- Computer
CCRM- the little box above the radiator

No, that line is not connected to the fuel system at all. Well, it dumps back into the tank, but it doesn't affect fuel pressure at all.

First off,
do you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key?

Fuel pump sounds fine, and the car started just fine today. Weird? But even if the line doesn't connect to anything important, I'd still like it up and off the ground. I don't see any connections as to where it goes though.

There is the canister purge solenoid that connects into the "T" you are speaking of.

It is down in the front of the engine compartment near the driver's side bottom of the radiator. Follow the hose.....

Also the routing for the purge solenoid hose is on the fan shroud with the vacuum hose diagram.
