Other than safety equipment, what are the rules for powertrain in that class? I've seen pics of track racing with f production cars but I don't know the rules about engine and transmission setups.

I am going to run this gen 2 95 at the bonneville salt flats going after the F Productin record of 167

Sweet!

2 things:

1. Do you want me to change your username to something other then your real name.

2. You up to adding a big SHOForum.com decal on your SHO when you burn down the flats? :naughty1:

Good luck on your attempts.

Look up Ernie Groce on this forum who made some attempts with an 89 SHO around 10 plus years ago.

Ernie died maybe 5 years ago, but lives on in the hearts of this forum's members.

We wish you success.

At Bonneville the rules about engine and power train setups are simple for the production class
1 engine must have been available in the car and the transmission setups can be whatever you want
The big deal is no body modifications
All panels interior and exterior must be original and intact
Up to headlights must be intact no decal lights or mods to increase air to the motor IE ram air

It is a black gen 1
1989 first year I bought new in 89
All original I have raced it at bonneville in the 130 MPH club clocked 128.51 in the mile
May take back out after I set the F PROD in the white 95
Also have a silver 92 I am going to use for parts for the bonneville car

Racing above 150MPH at bonneville is serious
The cage design passed tech last year but 7 items failed so I could not race last year. Am spending the winter getting the car ready to pass tech this year

Are you using the typical bolt on stuff on the engine or doing more internals
