They came today but I didn't get to start installing them until about 10:00 pm. They are absolutely georgous. thumb Almost too nice to put under the car. I haven't finished installing them yet because it took me a little while thinking about the washers and I think I need more.

The shonut install kit comes with 8 washers but it isn't going to be enough. I measured the stock arms and to get the same thickness with the gtp arms you need two washers on each side of each end. 4 arms = 8 ends = 16 washers. That's considering that I don't reuse the 4 washers that were on each knuckle end. If I reuse them, then I only need 4 washers. The tubes that reduce the hole diameter are a perfect fit and work well.

I hope I'm not confused on the washer bit, am I?

Here are some pics. BMR Install Pics

Ok, I just had a revelation about the washers. If I mount the arms without washers against the knuckle and against the one side of the H-box then the arms will be straight. Then put two washers together to fill the gap at the H-box and use the single factory washers on the ends at the knuckles, 8 washers that shonut included will be enough.

The washers provided go on the H Box only, you use your current hub washers where they are. You did get the Bias plugs as well right? Other wise the brakes are going to be real shity.

Are you giong over to Summit point on Friday? I think it was you asking about that before to be told when there is a bunch of us going there..

Use the eight washers from Josh in the H-box, one on each side of the bushing. The stock arms already have one washer on the outside of each arm at the knuckle. Use those in the same spot. You will need to buy four more washers to place on the inside of each bushing at the knuckle, to keep everything lined up.

Yes, I will be at Summit Point on Friday. I'm getting the car aligned Thursday morning. I got the bias plugs also and hopefully the brackets I need came in from autozone so I can install my 11.6 rear brakes. If not I guess I will see how the solid discs hold up.

Nice stuff. Which bushings did you use there?
All of the bushings and swaybar links came in a package from shonut. It was a group buy he had a while back. I replaced everything except the upper strut mounts.

I just got done finishing my suspension up and I am a little disapointed in the drop on the front. I thought the intrax springs would set it down near the tire. They raised the back a little. I knew the rear factory springs were sagging.

I turned the koni's all the way to firm and then backed them off 1/4 turn and boy is that sucker stiff! When I put my weight on the front end it barely goes down and it very taught. I think it's gonna be a bone jarring ride.

Now it's off to the alignment shop tommorrow. I hope I installed everything right. :D

Personally I set my koni's.... rear full soft and front 1/2 turn towards firm when street driving, found them more comfortable then tokikos. Save the rough stuff until you arrive at the track. Have fun thumb

Did you turn the **** to firm until it wouldn't turn any more? I've heard from Ben Bently that this can possibly blow the seals. Hes a Chrysler Tech and the Neon ACR comes with konis stock. He said that full firm is 1 full turn from lock at full soft. I don't know if this is true and I've never heard of people blowing Konis from turning it all the way firm till it stops, but I don't know how people are adjusting them either. Just an observation and something I'd like cleared up, if any one else knows if this is true or not.

The best thing to do would be to call Koni tech support and ask them. Even better would be an actual Koni engineer.

Good question about the firmness setting. I'm not sure how it's supposed to work. I do know that before I installed the koni's I turned one of them all the way to full firm and pressed down on it and the rod came out very, very slowly. If I just backed the **** off full a little bit the rod started coming out much faster and then progresively faster as I turned it toward soft. So I know that you don't want to jam it all the way to firm. I wish Koni had put clicks into the turning so you could count the clicks and get them all the same.

Those BMR control arms do look great!! The threaded/adjustment area looks vulnerable to grit, etc. The boots from [email protected] would protect them and improved the appearance even more!
Jeeez, what do you own stock in the boot company? /jk :D I will get the boots in the near future. I just had to get everything done for Friday. I just finished installing my 11.6" rear brakes about 15 minutes ago. Now I have to go to sleep and have the car at the alignment place tomorrow morning at 7:00am.
