Blown sub, what to replace it with???

My 93 ATX has the factory "system" but the sub is blown. The previous owner replaced it with a regular 6-1/2" speaker but I promptly took it out as it crackled at high volume. Are there any good replacement subs I can buy or should I make another trip to the bone yard and scope for one there??

Finding a good quality 6.5 is hard.

Your better off redoing the whole system.

focal or MB Quart have really good smaller subs, see what memphis has also.

Has anyone simply cut the hole bigger to fit an 8"? Since I have no sub to work off of, what are the specs I need to look for? Ohms, Watts ect.?
