No matter what mode I put the EATC in, it always stays in "defrost" :omg:
My eyes are constently getting blasted by hot air, and they cant take much more.

I have checked a couple of the vacuum lines near the cruize control module, where else should I check? They all look good, I replaced most of them a couple years back.

Also, when I shut the car off with the blower on, I hear something like a peice of plastic "drop" or fall into place. Sounds like its coming from the blower area. Would this be my blend door? How hard is it to get at? What would be causing this?

The climate control is a hardbutton unit out of a 95 and is in like new condition, and everything is attached correctly in the back, no vacuum leaks there. Has been working fine for the last 6 months.

I have done some searching, but I have not found exactly my problem.
Any tips, advice is appreciated.

Find the vacuum line that runs through the firewall (it goes through one of the heater core holes, IIRC).

Verify it is not damaged or unhooked.

The EATC uses vacuum to switch the airflow around. If you loose vacuum, the system is designed to default to defrost.

It's an ~3/32" diameter vacuum line that comes out between the two heater core hoses on the firewall, and then routes to a vacuum-tee to the right (passenger side) on the firewall. You can see where the line comes through the firewall, but will have to remove the valence (sp ?) panel that covers the wiper motor to follow the routing to the vacuum-tee.

Thanks for the info. Looks like it broke right at the first tee. I will have to get some new tubing in there.

If that's the case, in the interim there is enough slack in that vacuum line to simply trim the end square and reinstall on the vacuum-tee. That will at least verify it is the only issue you're dealing with.
