My 1993 3.0 has major blowby. It puffs out the oil fill cap as it spins. Logic points to pistons, cylinders, or rings, unless there is something I'm missing. My next step is to change oil and load it with seafoam to hopefully free any stuck rings and clean all gunk out.

Any other ideas?

I have seen these engines get stuck rings. My most successful resolution has been to put in Motorcraft synthetic or semi-synthetic oil, and drive it on numerous trips of at least 30 minutes each and preferrably an hour at a time on the highway. In each case within a thousand miles or so the rings were working pretty much normally again.

I have not seen any results from Seafoam even though there are guys who claim it works magic.

On the old '93 I had when I got it it was using a quart every 500 miles. I ran two treatments of Auto RX though it over about 7500 miles. Two oil changes and three filters.

In the end it was down to a quart every 3000 miles. All you have to do is add it to non synthetic oil and drive normally. Do a filter change after 500 miles or so, then 3000 oil change with non synthetic and another bottle of Auto RX.
