I have a new SHO that has a problem with the MTX. I have used the search function, and still have yet to conclude if the problem lies with the blocking rings, synchros, or both? When cold, the transmission grinds on the 1-2 upshift. After 5 minutes, it doesn't do it anymore. The transmission also grinds on a 5-3 or 4-3 donwshift at any speed. I decided to drain the trans fluid and put in some new type F. I found out that the previous owner had diff **** in there. It probably was like 90 weight or so. Anyway I got a little over 2 quarts of type F in, and it seems a lot better. The 1-2 upshift is about the same, or maybe a little quieter, and the 5-3 or 4-3 downshift has completely gone away under 60mph. If I downshift from above 60 it will grind. Now I know the car needs a clutch soon, but I want to know if the problem lies within the blocking rings, or the synchros? I could just replace both the 1-2 and 3-4 blocking rings and synchros. I don't want to take it apart again if I go through all the trouble of doing a clutch job. Any thoughts on what exactly the problem may be?

P.S. When trying to shift quickly, it seems like it takes longer than the other SHO I own to shift. This leads me to believe it is the blocking rings, but like I said, I am not doing the install twice.
