The check engine light is always on because of an unplugged o2 sensor, stemming from it being broken off. However, once in a while the CEL light will flash. What would cause this?

Means a missfire in one of the cylindars. Been through that twice in the last month. You'll need to use a code scanner to find which one is missfiring and throwing the code. Then you'll need to buy a replacement ignition coil. The cheapest place I can find is Autozone's website. Even with overnight shipping for $16.99...it comes out just under $100 total which is cheaper than the part alone anywhere else I have seen.

What year is the SHO? I concur if it's a Gen III. But if it's a Gen I or II it doesn't have a misfire monitor.
