I have an 89 SHO and am a little confused about the heating and cooling system. I have the manual control system.

Are the manual and ATC blend doors the same?

My vent system only blows hot air and before I completely pull the dash I need to round up the correct blend door as well as probably replace the heater core and evaporative canister. I found the procedure to remove the dash and sub systems, but would like to do it right.

Can someone help?

They are not the same blend door. Manual and ATC have a different stamping and work differently (I know first hand) IIRC, that is a dealer only part as well.

I went through a 4 month ordeal with getting the wrong parts back and forth from fastpartsnetwork. I also talked to SHOSource and it seems that no one can get the Gen 1 EATC blend door motors. You may have luck getting the non-EATC style (if they are different) because a lot more Taurii were made with the manual controls.

Though if you do find EATC blend door motors, let me know :)

Blend Door

Again, it is an 89 SHO with manual temperature control.

So I'm still a little unsure about my situation with the temperature control. The system (manual operating heating and cooling) works as it should, only the vents only blow hot air. This occurs if the air flow is directed to the defroster or the mid level vents or the foot vents.

Does that mean blend door and where do I get one? I hate doing business with the local Ford dealer.

Is there a part number?

:salute:

The blend door just changes the heat output, not where the air is directed. That is changed via a vacuum operated door assembly.

What I was saying was that if you are looking for a gen 1 blend door, good luck. They were changed since the Gen 2s so you are looking for a new 17 year old part.

As for part number you might be able to get that from fastpartsnetwork, as they had the ones for the electronic versions.
