Heat/AC Blend Door Problem -error code 02

Hello, new member with 1992. Performed ECC Self diagnostic test. Error code 02 displayed(blend door problem). I believe that this is an electric door? I looked under the dash, with the access panel under the steering wheel and climate control out, I do not see this door. Is there a separate fuse or relay that controls the door? Would be nice to have operating soon, living on Long Island, kind of need the heat. Any help is much appreciated. George :thumb:

Probably the Blend Door Actuator (BDA), which is the electronic element that controls the blend door. Less likely - but also possible - is a broken blend door, which is actually what happened on my SHO.

In either case, you are going to have to disconnect and pull back the dash, as the blend dooor and BDA are buried deep in the center, near the firewall. From there you can check the door and replace the BDA.

Here is how the repair it went for me:

If you send me an email I can forward to you a PDF file that has instructions on how to pull the dash on a Gen II SHO.

Hey, I feel like I am now a part of a secret society. These cars, although new to me,have this life form going for them. You just want to make the car right in every way and hope that it will stay together. I printed your thread. I will e-mail you so you can get the other stuff to me. Huge help that you have been through this and are willing to share your thoughts. Any chance it could be the head unit? Probably a reach, right? Thank you, George

Funny how the SHO does that to people... :)

I very much doubt your troubles are related to the EATC unit itself.

Well, looks like some work ahead for me. Thank you for the quick reply and from what I read about your experience, I will have to be patient and calm.
