Today at our ECSHOC meet, Bluto noticed that my SHO was blowing thick black smoke at high-RPMs. I do have new O2's, after a lean code appeared. All I can think of is that the O2's may have become slightly dirty when going from the box to the y-pipe (Got some Never-seez on them, and I cleaned this with a little Xylol I believe). Could this have damaged the sensor? What else should I begin to look at? I have herad this is normal to blow a little black smoke under heavy load, but it was described as being a large, abnormal amount.

Thanks for any assistance!

Hmmmm... an interesting thought - my plugs and wires appear to cause a small miss under heavy throttle (either old or a little loose, I know why, long story). Could this be causing it? I also have a dirty K&N, and who knows how old my ECT is. I may replace/clean these soon too.

I think that if you replace the plugs and wires, the problem will go away. Replace the ECT also, it could be causing your problems.
