If that's what its even called, i was driving my 89 ford Taurus sho mtx and i heard something fly from under the hood, so i pulled over and checked it out (the check battery light came on btw) i looked around and noticed a pulley was gone( the timing tensioner pulley) and now all that is left is what i think is a bearing, or part of a bearing. the bolt is gone and the pully is gone, obviously. The belt is torn slightly on the side next to the engine in various places. The bolt that holds it on is loose as well. and I don't exactly know what I need to do to fix. I know I need parts but what parts, and how do I fix it? I'll be putting pictures up in about an hour to help clarify anything. I've read other posts on what i think is this but im still unsure. The fist picture is the bolt were a pulley and bolt should be, the second picture is what was still on the bolt, I'm guessing it's part of a bearing, and if this piece is supposed to be greasy/lubercated its not. its bone dry if that helps with anything.

Just to be sure , is it the accessory belt tensioner? Because the timing belt tensioner isnt visible unless you dismantle alot of stuff. If you need another acc belt tensioner , I got one for sale , PM me.

This Tensioner is visible, the one behind/under the battery. It's connected to the belt that is also connected to the alternator

The bearing is pressed into the pully-thats what you need along with a nut. The piece you have left goes into the bearing & slides on to the adjustable stud on the idler pully bracket that is sticking out. That stud is adjustable by using a 5mm allen on the bolt on top of that bracket to adjust belt tension. Make sure that will adjust up & down & just find a good bearing & pully & nut. Put up a 'want to buy' in the appropriate section or contact a local SHO person, or PM me.
& its a 6rib!

Ok, thanks for the help. this helped so much. One more question, hen ordering this 6rib it has the option to send in the core either after install or send it now or no core required(bearing only). What does this mean? Oh, and one other question. What should i do with this piece i have?

save the piece you have left as you will insert that into the new bearing/pully. the 'core' they are talking is the pully which you do not have!! The bearing is pressed into the pully! its not hard to do, some people prob just can't! so $43=pully & $45 for the pully + ship!! Plus you need the right nut! & you have to see IF that stud is still adjustable! if not you will need a whole idler pully bracket assembly!

We (SHO Source) can get the whole assembly if needed. We do have several parts cars to pull cars from.

Its not up on the site but we can get just about any part needed. Just because it isn't there doesn't mean we can't get it.
So does that mean i could get the nut that holds on the bearing and pulley? Because im probably going to need one since mine is gone.
