Alright,
Driving to work today - the pedal goes to the floor- very little pressure to the brakes. Idrive about 5 miles and stop at a gas station put some brake fluid in- still nothing. What can it be

Broken line?
Master cylinder shot?

It was weird after the rain storm we just had i drove through a huge puddle by accident and than the next day never drove the car- than today i drive it and the pedal goes straight to the floor-..can a puddle I mean a big puddle break a hose or damage something.

has anyone experience this before- its a very scary feeling.

I forgot to look for leaks on the driveway- it wasnt bad until about a block away and i was late for work. But it was low and it took alot of fluid

My brake light has been on for about a week now- ever since i opened up the rear porportiong valve to let more flow to the rears - and now the pedal had no ressitance so i stopped for fluid and still nothing. i should check for leaks but its kinda hard with my schedule but i know i have to or else my schedule will be in the grave. But are these symptoms a leak or a bad MC or vacuum im wondering

its most likely a leak somewhere, just a coincidence with the puddle of water. look for leaks and go from there.

Alright i went out to my car..

Noticed when car is off i hit the pedal and it gets hard for a moment than passes a hard spot and totally drops to the floor( dont know if that means a ruined MC) but than also i noticed my left rear rim is all wet inside- now possiblities

Blown cailper(how does that look)
Blown line( but there new within 6 months)

Also the cailper has been replace twice before so i have had problems with it

Ditto what Steve said, but also...don't drive it until it is fixed. It's not worth your life or that of someone else if you can't stop.

Jack the car up, fill it up with fluid, take the wheel off, have someone press on the brake pedal while you watch to see if you can tell where it's coming from.

I'm not trying to be a *****, but why would you drive for a week with the brake light on? Especially as it came on after you did some work on the system?

Thanx for the advice.. but theres other things that trigger your brake light- and i did check my fluids and they were fine- but now something obviously exploded and now no pressure.. i wish i could be as bright as you are.

I read this thread .. sounds like u have a leak somewere and its probably your rear that was all wet.

Take your wheels off .. make sure u have plenty of fluid in the resevoir and have a friend pump the pedal too see were the leak is. Hopefully u just didnt tighten the bleeder screw down good enough. A simple fix.

Once u find the leak and fix it .. u have to do a X bleed. Start at the rear right .. FR ... FL and finally the rear left.

Good luck

Of course the leak was from the rear- so further investigation it was a leak from the line and where it connects to the cailpers. We replaced the copper ring and tighten it down and now it doesnt leak- so my brakes are back again.
