Better Shift?

I have a 93. My parts car is a 94. I waas once told that there is a computer that I can take off the 94 to help my 93 shift better. I'm looking for a firmer kick down. Having the transmission rebuilt help the shifting alot but nothe kick down to first. Anyone have any ideas?
