Does anyone know the best way to determine a suspension/brake problem. I have a wierd vibration on the front left and I cannot figure out what the problem is unless i just buy some parts and try them one at a time. I mean can you just go to any suspension shop and say hey can you quote me on fixing this problem or will they be to stupid to figure it out? It feels like warped brakes but not. Sometimes it shakes sometimes it doesnt. There are weird sounds. I checked what i could. The only thing I could try yet is maybe getting my rotors turned, but then im starting to spend money on it so. Any Ideas how to figure this out?

Vibration through the steering wheel, and is it side to side? Prolly worn tie rod ends. How are your tires? You would be amazed at how much bad tires can effect NVH. As for cluncks, check out your sway bar endlinks. Prolly a good time to replace em anyway. To check the tie-rod end, remove the wheel, the tie-rod end is connected to inner tie rod (which could also be your problem), so follow it back to the rack to make sure you have the right part. Snip the cotter pin in the nut and remove the nut with an 18mm deep socket. Carefully smack the tie rod end stud up from the bottom, and stay centered. If it doesnt come easily, dont beat it. Youll bung up the threads for sure. Heat it will mapp gas (propane will work but it takes longer) and then give it a good crack. It should come loose. After it cools down feel it. If the ball and stud is loose and easily flops around, its time to replace.

I had a vibration that only happened around 50 to 60 mph and only while accelerating. It turned out to be the half-shafts.

Have your wheel balance checked. I had this problem and later found that one of my wheel balance weights was living in my plastic wheel well. I guess it had flung off at highway speed and then my wheel was out of balance.
