1 - remove the intake from the heads
2 - disassemble (its all 12mm nuts)
3 - remove hose clamps
4 - spray inside with Berrymans B-12 Chemtool until clean
5 - reassemble (dont tighten hose clamps till you get the intake back on the head and aligned)

whats the best way on cleaning the insides of the intake manifold?

thanks
I completely dismantled mine and cleaned the inside with carb. cleaner and a bottle brush. Other people use a product called Berryman's B12. I avoid this because it will take the paint off the outside of the manifold if it accidently gets on it.

I think the ONLY way to get the intake completely clean is to take it apart.

how about for the people who had their intakes powdercoated, was the insides cleaned also on the process of degreasing and sand blasting?

Did the inside of the intake manifold come polished from the factory? If not is it alot of work too do? I was just wondering because I plan on having my intake powdercoated in the spring, and thought about polishing if its not done yet.

Like Markus said. I did the same and took it apart in pieces and used a baby bottle cleaner to clean the runners and everything else. By using the bottle cleaner and taking the whole thing apart it took me only 1 and 1/4 bottles of GUMOUT throttle body and intake manifold cleaner to clean the entire intake, but with the use of water to rinse right after bottle cleaning. The rest of the extra bottle I used it to clean the valve covers and intake manifold outside, since it has no affect on the paint on the manifold or valve covers. I also took out the horns and cleaned them along with the secondaries for better air flow thats smoother and not rough with all the crude build up.
