That's a very general question... factors to take into account:

-wheel diameter
-ride height
-camber
-tire expectations dry vs wet traction, hydroplaning resistance, wear, etc.

If your vehicle is lowered you may increase the likely hood of tire rub with wider than factory tires and subsequent fender rolling will be required to correct the issue.

For the best handling, stay with the stock size on the stock rims. If you have changed rims, get tires whose tread width matches the rim width. There are a number of good summer tire choices out there. A lot depends on how important dry and wet handling are to you, traded off against tread wear.
