Where I live, they are ripping the roads to pieces...and the highways around here are no road of silk either...I don't want to spend gobs of money of Konis or Tocikos(whatever) because I will just end up beating the shit out of them. However, I do not want Ford Motorcraft struts either. What are my other options...its been suggested that I go to KYB...obviously my next question is...are KYB's worth the extra couple bucks? I'm going to end up replacing both rear coil springs, both rear upper strut mounts and struts all around...I wanna do it all at once to save on labor costs. Any other strut brand suggestions? Thanks!

BTW- I would say my driving style would be around the agressive to semi-agressive area...spirited driving I guess.... :D

Depending one how much you want to spend, you can go with some cheapy's that do a decent job for a decent price. I went with some Monroe Sensatracs for the rears, and stock springs for the rear as well.

Prices were:

Springs - NAPA - $90 for the set of two
Struts - Advance - $56 Each
Mounts - Advance - $36 Each

these aren't the best prices, as I found springs cheaper at other places, but no one had them in stock. Plus I trust Napa's springs to be a tad better than say Autozone's or Advance's. Like I said, it's all up to you and how much u want to invest. I plan to keep my suspension stock for awhile and needed to get the rear setup done ASAP, so i went with stock stuff. If u plan to do the fronts too, and want that extra edge, maybe jsut save up the rest of the money and get an entire Tokico/Eibach setup for around $600 or so (not sure on the best price for that) and it will all be done together. Just my .02

KYB GR2s are about $200 and eibachs can be had for $230 and it will be decent just on really bad roads wont perform as well as Tokicos.

Check the Tirerack sponsor on the forums homepage this where im quoting these prices from.

Go there, click to ford taurus sho, year, then suspension and there you go.

Also Subframe connectors from www.prosuspension.com great bang for buck suspension mod. wink

Intrax on ebay for 176$. search taurus sho intrax and a couple of auctions should come up. As for struts you could do that KYB's but just about everyone who has had them doesnt like them A buddy of mine broke a KYB, aparently there not for lowered cars.

The Eibachs will lower your car very little,in some cases it with higher the car as some cases the stock springs have sagged over time.

But they will give you way better performance than stock springs.

Thanks for idea Tony.

A few questions now, is it recomended that I replace the boots? What about pillers/bumpers or whatever they're called? If front stuts seem okay, should I replace them if I'm gonna do the rear? What kindda labor charges will I be facing? Thanks!

We have some bad roads, so I bought Eibach springs and Tokico struts, even though I am on a budget. The stock springs were shot, the Eibachs were no more expensive, will LAST, and sure handle the roads better without diving. Also, the Tokicos are not harsh, handle great, have lifetime warranty, and I am very glad I bit the bullet and bought them. Got them on a pretty good deal.
