Alright, I am removing the transmission at home, and almost have it out. My question now is what to do after it's out. I would like to have it rebuilt with performance parts, to make it perform better and last longer, but is there somewhere you can buy a built transmission for a decent price, or should i pay somewhere around $900 to have someone build me one, or should I try to rebuild it myself with just the price of parts? how terrible are these transmissions to work on? I have rebuilt my C-4 in my Granada, and my auto teacher rebuilds auto's on the side, and offered to help if i needed it. I just need my car done soon, want it to last, and don't wanna pay an arm and a leg. I prolly own the wrong car to be worried about paying an arm and a leg.

thanks for the info!

do a search on 'ATX rebuilds' on here, im sure you will find lots of info. there are a few members/moderators that do a great job i have heard.

if you are thinking of getting a shop near you to rebuild it, make sure that they are good and know what they are doing...the SHO tranny is already weak enough.
