What is the best combination of suspension parts for a daily driver? It shouldn't be TOO rough, but I can deal with "firmer than stock." I would also like the handling to be neutral or slight oversteer, at the very least cutting understeer as much as possible. Also an inch or so of lowering would be fine. I'm looking to use either 16" or 17" rims.

I've found Tokicos & Eibachs are a good combination for a Gen 2 with 16" wheels. Your swaybar combo will be different from car to car & driver to driver, depending on what weight you're at & how its distributed, etc.

I like my 95 ATX with the stock front & rear 29mm bar a lot. My 95 MTX was pretty decent with the 24/26 combo, but just a tad on the stiff side.

Add 17" wheels & aluminum subframe bushings, the car likes to turn-in, but the ride quality suffers some over the 16" wheels.

Konis are a very nice strut, fully adjustable, but more pricey & it takes some time to dial in the way you like the car to handle.

For a Gen 1, the combination would probably be a little different.

On a topic this wide open, "opinions vary" is probably the most accurate answer.

Another DD.

I'm also about to do the suspension on my 94 ATX, what other bushings etc. should be replaced while I'm in there?

Personally?

Well, on my 95 ATX, I replaced:

Front:
Springs
Struts
Mounts
Bearing Plates
All accompanying hardware (pinch bolts, washers, etc.)

Strut Rod Bushings
Subframe Bushings
Swaybar Endlinks
Lower Control Arms / Ball Joints
I did NOT install new swaybar bushings yet, because I bought the wrong ones from Energy Suspension. I did not replace the bump stop / bellows because I didn't have new ones at the time, and the old ones were toast.

Rear:
Struts
Springs
Mounts
All accompanying hardware
Swaybar Endlinks
Swaybar Bushings
strut rod bushings
Rear bump stop / bellows

I did NOT replace the rear control arms, but I did install an H-Brace.
Strut Rod Bushings

I also have a welded subframe connector (was 2 of them, long story). I have strut braces coming from Anonda Motorsports someday. Struts were new Tokicos, springs were new Eibachs.
