Yeah, I'm screwed!

I'm not too sure on how I did it, but some how, I managed to break the new CPS I bought and bent the **** out of the plate that sits behind the sprocket. Anyone know where I can get another, or is it e-bay time

Hehe, ain't that a bitch? That happened to me a few weeks ago. I just took the easy route and bought another crank gear/reluctor assembly from another forum member (PhilAllemang). The reluctor just screws onto the back of the crank gear, so if you found just the reluctor, that would probably work. You can try bending the reluctor back, but you have to make sure that that the vanes don't contact the CPS.
What happened to me was I unscrewed the CPS, turned the engine over, and a vane caught the CPS. It broke the old CPS and bent the reluctor.

Did you check the gap between the vanes and the CPS? All three vanes? It sounds like either you didn't gap it at all or one of the vanes wsa bent and struck the CPS. You will definitley need to straighten the sensor vanes or replace the crankshaft timing belt pulley.

I had a similar thing happen to me. I hurt myself taking off the water pump on a cam sprocket. My friend tried to be nice and continue on. Unfortunately I found out he's more of a hack than a mechanic. He pryed my crank sprocket off with a crow bar and bent the vane up. All he needed to do was tap the woodruff key in a bit, and it would have slid off. What an ass hat! My dad tried to bend it back and argued that it was fine. He gave me all of this crap when I ordered a new one. I told him that it really needs to be perfect and almost might not cut it. It cost me over $120 to get one from FPN. It came with the sprocket and the vane. I couldn't get it seperate. I recommend the junk yard. There was a sho with the motor at the last one I was at.

Yeah, sounds about right to me. I wanted to get the crank bolt out of the way before I gapped the CPS. Bad move...I cracked the CPS almost clean in half.

Sho-Ripper, I PMd you
