I turned off my SHO and heard a loud, distinct beeping coming from behind the dash, just off center towards the passenger side. I remember hearing this noise a couple of years ago, only one or twice. I pulled back the glovebox and found a blue box behind the glovebox, off to the left. The beep is most definately coming from this crazy blue box... what the **** is it?

I spoke briefly with a Ford tech and then browsed online for a wiring diagram that might show what it is... no luck so far. There are no markings on it and I haven't yet worked up the ambition to remove the dash to find out whats going on back there.

Anyone?

Wow, that was a lightning quick response, thanks!

The beeping does stop after a while, but it only beeps intermittantly.

The airbag light is definately ok, because it began blinking when I fired up the car. I kind of assumed it had something to do with the SRS, but what exactly is it? A control module? And why on earth would a veteran Ford tech have no idea what I was talking about?

The clockspring was replaced a couple of years ago when my airbag light began blinking and the functions on the steering wheel stopped working. The cruise and horn are still working, so I'm thinking of a really expensive sensor ...

So where do I start...? And why would this beeping be intermittant?

I always wondered what that was, mine does it once in a blue moon. My air bag light also flashes all the time, tho.

....and all that's exactly why my airbox diagnostic computer on the passenger side of the glovebox is currently unplugged. no more flashing or beeping.

meh, just drop the glove box out of the way.....then look to the passenger side of the car....and you'll see the lil blue box. Just unplug em both. I did, and no more beeping.
