I own a 1993 SHO. I just replaced my solenoid. I got everything hooked up and now I have no power at all. I know the battery is good. I also noticed that the new solenoid was getting hot, so I disconnected the battery. Did I hook up the wires wrong? Does the positive cable from the battery go on the same solenoid post as the wire that comes out of the starter? Which would be the post on the left side of the solenoid. Does anyone have a diagram of the proper wiring. I don't think I did it wrong, but you never know.

Sounds like you did do it wrong. When the starter is mounted the cable coming down from the battery and the one from alt mount on the outer post of the solenoid. And the ground of course goes on the mounting bolt that has the stud on it.

So neither cable goes on the side of the inner post? They both go on the same post? I'm still old school, when you had one cable on one side of the solenoid and the other on the other side and they weren't attached to the starter (Ford).
