After much debate, and hearing a lot of naysaying I decided to take on the separation of heater controls/radio to install an aftermarket cd player in the dash, long story short, I've got it done, my problem now is that for sometime I've had a battery drain (even before starting on this project), I took it to mechanic, he says the drain is on fuse 24 (under the dash), goes on to say that the keyless entry module is causing a pulse drain, and something else is causing a steady drain (he can't diagnose other drain because he says my fusebox is wired differently than his schematics). So of course he's saying it's the heater controls/radio project is causing the issue, I ask if we could put a toggle switch in to **** the circuit when car is shut off (wouldn't that prevent the battery from being drained??). When I took it to him the battery would be dead in less the 48 hours, so it must be a substantial drain?? This is only a 5 amp fuse, can anybody give some advice/shed some light on this connundrum??

It would help if we knew what year you had.

Fuse 24 controls the Remote Climate Control module, the ICP that you replaced and the instrument cluster.

I have had the same problem. With a voltmeter I checked the power dist. box under the hood. I came to the conclusion it was the RCU circuit. A few years ago, I swapped the disc changer out with a 10 disc Audiovox changer (which was a huge mistake... it won't play lots of burned cd's) Anyway, I installed a switch inside the car. I still wouldn't trust letting my car sit more than 2 days though.
I am also thinking it could be the GEM module.
Now that I remember, if I open and close the car door several times... or just leave the door open for several minutes (w/out starting the car) then I might get stranded. That was when I started messing with the voltmeter.
