Lately I have to pull up on the battery cable to start the car. (pull up on the end opposite the battery, it is securely fastened to the battery itself). Whatever effect pulling on it has will usually go away by the next time I drive. The EATC screen resets continously while driving, but the radio never cuts out. The anti-lock light sometimes comes on and stays for a while, sometimes flickers, sometimes is not there. It all seems to be coming from something going awry at the end of the battery cables. Might be a loose wire or a ground. Where is the next stop for the battery cables? I looked and it seemed to disappear down there. Of course I haven't had a lot of time to get a real good look at it.

Negative or positive cable?

After I did my clutch job my car was acting funny, I found that the nut that holds the negative cable to the starter had fallen off. I tightened it back on good with just one drop of blue loctite.

I've read that erratic eatc or antilock issues while driving can be caused by a weak alternator or battery, too.

The ground for the battery should be connected to the starter and a small wire to the frame. I'm not sure how your positives hook up, it's different than the 91.

You can also get the battery/ alternator tested for free at Autozone or other places.
Good luck!

Sounds like the cable has corroded inside the insulation.

If cleaning the connection doesn't do the job, replace the cable.

Also, specify the year and tranny. There are differences.
