batt light

on my 94 sho the batt. light comes on onece and a while checked alt. puting out 14 volts. any ideas what is causing it

Check the single wire connector at the altenator, if it becomes disconnected (bad connection) the batt light will come on and the altenator will still be charging the system at 14v. I had that problem on my car and the light was coming on at very random times and would only stay lit for a few seconds at the most.
