now that my SHO is 'resting', I am planning on doing a litle maintenance.

In the past 25k, I have done the following:

plugs
wires
valve cover gaskets
plug well seals
cleaned intake w/ new gaskets
waterpump
CPS
rod bearings
pan seals

I have a leak at the rear cam seal, but I have a complete upper gasket set for that. I am also going to replace my CID at the same time.

I also have a leaking front main seal that I will take care of.

My biggest question is wether or not my plug well seals and valve cover gaskets will be reusable when I got to replace my cam tensioners and do a valve lash. I have a spare set on hand, but I don't really want to use them if I don't need to. I used a little RTV to seal the plug well seals.

Beyond that, I was thinking of taking the fuel injectors out and having them cleaned and balanced, along with a new knock sensor. Recommended?

TIA

As long as they are not brittle or cracked, you can re-use the valve cover gaskets. I would just clean off the RTV and put a new coat on when installed.

Might as well replace the knock sensor sense you are digging that far in.

Sounds like you have a plan.

Good luck and have fun.

When you take the valve cover off...make sure that the seals are not dry. They should be somewhat soft and spongy. If they are not then you need to replace them, but the seals are designed to be reusable.

I also am planning on getting my injectors cleaned and balanced. I don't see any reason why it would hurt. It is good maitenence. Replacing the knock sensor is probably also good maitenence if you are in there.

Good luck.
