Hey guys, I just replaced a bunch of front suspension components and have an annoying knocking sound up front. After looking closely, the new ball joints that I installed seem to be just a bit too long. The snap ring groove is not flush with the bottom of the control arm allowing up and down movement. These are the Moog 8687 I believe. On V8sho.com one guy mentioned this problem, but noone elaborated on it. Just wondering if anyone knows why this part doesnt fit and which ones do.
Thanks

I've had lots of problems with moog ball joints on fords at my shop. I ended up using oe motorcraft as the moog ones were not the correct diameter. The snap ring doesn't hold the ball joint tight it's just a safety feature. The joints are pressed into the knuckle, so if you didn't use a press to install them they are definately too loose.

well i guess i need some new knuckles..... any ideas of decently priced ones? I cant find them on rockauto and fast parts is around 375 a side. I can always try my luck at the junkyard but would hate to be in the same boat.
