Ball bearings

I have a rumble comming out from the left front axle. It feels like damaged ball bearings. I lifted the front end, and there is a bit of play when I shake the wheel.

Do I need to replace the axle, or is there a set of ball bearings that are damaged?

The axle should be fine.

You will need to remove the entire knuckle and use a press to replace the wheel bearings.

You should create something really cool out of aluminum to completely replace the bearings. I've got the same problem and will be first in line. LOL

The axle can stay in the transmission, but will need to be removed from the hub.

that transparent aluminum that Scotty alluded to should be on the market any day now, I hear it's a great bearing material
