bad vss sensor?

i think the vss sensor just craped out on me. well thats what i think. while driving on the highway the other day the trany started shifting down all by its self in amd out of overdrive. then all of a sudden it down shifted again felt like it shiftrd into first. it made a big bang ! it broke my rear motor mount. i stoped and started going again and it shifted hard threw the gears .then the check engine light came on .

I don't know much about the ATX, but I do know that the first thing in order would be to check the codes to see what you come up with.

It would make sense to me about the VSS though. Without that the car has no way of telling how fast the car is going.

I'll look into this more, but I have encountered the same thing on my 94...

it turned out to be a broken power lead to a fuse box that provided the transmission with its power...
