I have been having an intermittent smoke, loss of power problem. At times the smoke is so bad it looks like mosquito killing fog machine The dealer told me I need new turbos. They wanted 5k$ so I have taken it to another place. If I need new turbos I there a better ones to use than the OEM turbos. Thanks Keith

Stock turbos are cheap on tasca. 1300$ for the set. Something like that i thought. And they aint hard to replace. Just tight, in everyway. Ford wants 1053$ for each.
Or buy them yourself and find a good shop to do the work.
Atp and gearhead are probably 2-3 times the cost of a stock set. Add more than enough hp than needed to bend a rod.

It's about ten book hours to swap out the turbos. The oem ones like to just go out with age and there isn't really an aftermarket solution unless you want to go bigger. Can absolutely be done for way cheaper.

BNR turbos make stock replacement units. $1100 for the pair. Have used them on other platforms in the past, they are legit.
