So it's been about 2 months now and I still haven't gotten my power steering pump replaces, i have it, in a box, but that's about it. Well after the first two weeks of driving w/o it headbang , I noticed that my steering wheel had play in it. Now i know that there is a pin you can tighten in the column, not it. So having hte bottom half of the dash off (not hard) i looked up towards the steering wheel. There is a round "plate" i guess, looks like it it had even slices within it, I don't know if this has to do with anything, but this is actually connected to the steering wheel itself. SO i started to turn the wheel and watch that plate and the shaft. The wheel would catch a hard spot, then "clunck" a bit. The plate would move, but not the shaft for that short distance. madflame Now what needs tightening? My luck, the fun job of taking the wheel off, and trying to disable the air bag. I believe that there is a thread about it, but i'll be damned if i can find it. doh . SO as i dirve, and make a left it will clunck. As long as i don't turn past center to the right, left hand turns no longer clunk. But i turn right, then clunck again. Same ol' crap. SOrry for the ramble. Links to threads? Comments? anthing...?
THANKS AGAIN GUYS

Thanks for the link steve, but that's not where the play is occuring. Where the actual steering wheel first attaches to the column, unless this is this "slider joint" that you speak of :D . If this is the case, i'll be hitting the books, then probably hitting my head. THANKS again!
