I had to disconnect the unit on the drivers side of the trunk as the base sounds from the JBL system were distorted. What should I do next? Can I replace just this unit and what is it?:salute:

It's almost a 99.99999% chance that you blew your subwoofer out. The speakers were made of paper. Search "subwoofer replace"; there are literally JILLIONS AND JILLIONS AND GAZILLIONS of threads out there on what you can do - repair the speaker, hog the hole out and install an 8" woofer (let's be honest, it's not a subwoofer until at least 10"), or ditch the whole shebang and get an aftermarket amp and sub (the best route).

Edit: Just noticed it's your first post! Welcome to the forum! but yeah, definitely use the search button up top. It will save you COUNTLESS hours of waiting for people to reply, and frustration (when all they tell you to do is search the damn forum! lol)
