my tuxedo SHO had a lil run in. i didn't swing wide enought to enter the driveway and well...the parked 96 F150 and its chrome bumper won. damage is light. scrape down the rear passenger door, slight buckle at end of door where door meets seal. chips at end of door and start of quarter panel. more plastic scrape along fender and 3 spokes chipped and scraped.

i just submitted my claim online cuz its so late. 1000$ deductible. what do you think the damage may be. first scrape starts just before mid way on rear passenger door. its about 3 inches wide and goes basically back to bumper where it rounds the corner, slight buckle at rear edge of door and the damaged wheel.

i would have to say around $2500. the tuxedo black i imagine is pricey and that 5 spoke wheel is about $400???

I'd be guessing closer to twice that at least. If the rear quarter panel is creased it may need to be cut out and replaced. Paint, body work, a new door, a wheel.... My guess would be closer to $5k or higher.

only crease is at trail edge of door, where the outer skin is pinched over and welded to inner skin. i don't think they would replace the entire door. probably bend out the slight buckle and repaint.

They'll reskin the door and send the wheel to get repaired. Most wheel repair places charge a buck and a quarter to fix damage.

You can'r reskin the doors on new Fords anymore because Ford won't sell just the skin, you have to buy the whole door. If the crease is near the pinch weld, it would be almost impossible to repair too, so it would need replacement.

$300 / panel for paintwork, 80/hour for other repair work, maybe 4 hours worth of dent repair + r&r of some parts

remember, blending the front door counts as another $300

didnt really look at the pics to hard though, so i cant say for sure

I stand corrected. It doesn't look as bad as it sounded. Cost to repair should be minimal. Best of luck.

My guess is it will cost about $1500 with a reconditioned wheel and, no blending on the quarter or front door. The dog leg section on the quarter panel is a good place for a cutoff line. That will also depend on how well the painter can tint his color.
If the insurance company decides to replace the door, along with blend time and R&I of the quarter panel and front door, it should be around $2900- 3500 depending on cost of parts

The insurance quoted about 1950. My deductible is 1000. Sucks. I'm sure it will cost more and take longer than the estimated 5 days. They mentioned replace wheel. I hope so cuz I asked to keep damaged as spare if ford doesn't want core return. That wheel is $674

the body shop says 2000 is about right. they are going to give me the old wheel for 50 bucks. so thats good deal. i saw the car yesterday. they said the streak across the door was also a dent that could only be seen from certain angle/light which the bodyman was fortunate to witness.

car looked so pitiful with seafoam green body filler :(

i hope the backup sensors work properly after they reinstall the bumper

You have to pay to get your own wheel back?

$10 says they are installing a wheel from a company that repairs wheels, and the $50 is the core charge on said wheel. i wouldnt expect the shop to eat that cost. after these cars are plentiful in the junkyard the wheel company wont bother w/ the core charge anymore, because if they need more of a certian style then can just call the local yard and order a whole slew of that style

Look on the estimate. I bet the cost of the core charge has already been paid by the insurance company.

First owner said they gonna require core and they are getting new wheel. Then I talked to parts guy about it and he says core charge is $50. Quote" you can have it, I don't have any use for it". So I'm assuming it would " cost" them 50 to dispose of it. We shall see when I do final pickup and paperwork
