Hey. I have a 89 SHO and it won't start. I have jumped it twice in the night the first time i drove it around for about 5 or 6 mins no problems didn't die or anything. Next morning the car dont got enough power to start.... ok jump it again that night and hit the highway drove for about 15 20 mins and came back let it idle for a second and shut it off. Come out this morning and it won't start agian.... i have lights and all but the battery isn't charged enough or something....? Any ideas cause if it was the alt wouldn't the car shut off cause the alt isn't charging so it would have to be the battery correct? Lemme know if i am wrong.. And thanks for any help.

Take it to and autoparts store and they'll load test it for you. If you do need a battery you're looking at about $50 for a decently cheap one.

I would take it to an autoparts store where they can test your battery and alternator while on the car for free.

If those are both good, come back here for more ideas. :thumb:

Hey i was messing around with the battery. And when i first got my car i had a problem with the battery cables staying tight on the terminals. Well i tightened the positive cable and cleaned the corroded part where there is a gap... plug it all back in and go and car started up first time kinda suprised me.... so what was the car just not getting a good enough connection to turn the car over..? Or could i still have a bad battery?

Bad battery terminals could be it.

If they were/are corroded/not tight it will cause the problems you described.

Clean the corrosion off and make sure they are nice and tight. The corrosion cuts down on current flow...which gone far enough would cause your car not to start. Loose ternimals will do the same thing.
