Could a horribly done alignment cause a strut to go bad? Got my alignment done at a local place. They completely screwed up and the rear tires ended up like this: /----\, though not that extreme. The tires wore out and one of the rear struts went bad. The front was done perfect but the rear was f'ed up.

Since the rear camber is not adjustable (unless you have installed a camber adjustment kit), chances are that no, they didn't screw it up. Have you added a few hundred pounds to the trunk lately? That would make the rear end squat and the camber go negative as you have described?

Or the strut is bent at the pinch bolt clamp.
