Back speakers

anyone know what size the stock speakers are? Got 2 holes in the back deck that I currently have 6 1/2s in but they're a bit small to fit in there. Looks like a 5x7 or 6x9 originally went back there

6x8's I just replaced mine wensday night. But 5x7 fit there as well.

just put a sub in the trunk and some decent components up front and leave the rear stage out altogether...i don't miss mine.

I want to try and get rear fill, but my front stage is pretty awesome I don't need it but I want the extra mid bass if I can get it

as stated above 5x7 and 6x8 both fit well.

You'll find the acoustics of the Taurus are awesome. seal the doors real good and you'll notice a huge improvement in mid-bass.

I don't leave the speakers open to the doors, I always install some sort of enclosure or it ruins the frequency response anyway. Think I'm gonna slam 6x9's in there and just use a spacer plate to make it work.

a little work with tin snips and 6x9s drop right in.

If you have a 1st gen with the JBL option you and take out the factory subs and undermount 6x9s with no modification.

there isn't anything factory from the stock stereo in there.... wasn't when I got it

even if there was it would all be in the trash

I have 6x9's in the rear of both my Gen I's.

^ 6x9's will fit with slight modification. As stated, you can mount them from underneath if you want.

this way you get a component type set with a tweeter

the inner screws you see right next to the grill line right up with the taurus pattern, just take off the back basket/mounting plate first...
