of course, as anyone even remotely familiar with the sho knows, i have a junk trans. (no 4th gear), and soft/delayed upshift, worse as it gets hotter. is there really anyone out there that makes a good kit to o/h this trans and some sort of a kit to address the valve body situation? i am comfortable doing this job myself, i'd just like to hear from some one with recent or prior experience with it. thanks, Chuck!

You can buy an overhaul kit from Ford, or an ATC or Transtar kit. They're all about equal quality. Unfortunately, no one makes a kit with kevlar clutches and such. I recommend replacing the planetaries and the forward clutch piston regardless of how they appear, and installing at least the **** upgrade from the TransGo kit.
