I had assistance reassembling my 93 MTX back in 2007 and didn't get a change to look at everything being done in a short period of time. Now that I'm going through the car to get it road ready for state inspection I am noticing some things that might need attention.

Do the Axle nuts for the CV to spindle require a washer or do the nuts sit right up to the hub and axle? I ask this because looks loke there are 2 different types of washers between the nuts and hubs on the car. The passenger side wheel still seems to have play even though we've tightened the nut down. The washer is bowing in on the passenger side. Can I remove the washers and retorque the nuts and be all good? BTW these hub/bearing assemblies were new before I parked the car.

What he said, the washer is crucial to loading the bearing properly. It may have survived without it but it will lead to a possible premature failure of the bearing. The washer that came on my axles/cars were like 1/8 or 1/4 in thick washer that should seat cleaning against the hub and the nut.

You are supposed to buy new nuts every time you take them apart as they are a locking pinch nut. However that being said the ~200 ft/lbs of torque you put on the nuts dont seem to mind on my cars which i have yet to have an issue with reusing nuts.
